    God I Fucking hate Layla

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 09:48 PM PDT

She acts like a spoiled child and yeets Victoria across the room. She then says "Victoria Get up!" LMFAO. She also says "I don't kill" to Alethia even though she just killed her best friend. What kind of writing is this?
Ubisoft should make an Assasins Creed game without the modern counter part since after Desmond it all clearly went to shit.

[Spoilers] Funniest Quest in AC Odyssey

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 04:27 PM PDT

One really, really bad day has to be one of funniest missions I've ever played. All of your sub missions fail : Lady rides off of a cliff with a horse she thinks is Pegasus, Blacksmith trips and his equipment kill him, Ajax thinks his helmet will make him immortal.

Then when you meet the fake eagle bearer and have the stare down, my god my stomach was hurting so much. Had so much with this mission.

So I just started playing Assassin's Creed 2 (probably going to make a post to gush about it later) and I noticed that there was one, very important question that's been skipped over entirely.

    Killed cultist by accident. [Spoilers]

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 03:17 PM PDT

I was just roaming around in Athens. While reading a message board, a woman NPC came and stood near me. Except I got the Knock out and Assasinate option. Felt really weird, but I stealth assassinated her which took a portion of her life and then I killed her with bows. Turns out she was the Sage of Eyes of kosmos Nyx the shadow. I had gotten only one clue about the sage lol!

assassin's creed || battle royale (cinematic trailers video edit)

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 06:13 AM PDT

The Princes Banquet from Revelations is my new favorite mission in all of Assassins Creed.

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 10:26 AM PDT

It starts out with you beating up the guitar dudes from AC2, and then Ezio dresses up as one of them and starts singing about the Borgia and other things in Ezios life to distract the people so the Assassins can kill the templars. Its weird and I love it.

Rise of The Tomb Raider is a perfect example of how to do Modern AC gameplay

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 01:45 PM PDT

When you think about it, in this game Lara has a golden vision that highlights enemies, she can parkour stuff and trees, she has a knife for silent kills and she can jump from places to kill people silently.

She is also fighting a Templar like organization that wants to control the world by finding artifacts left from ancient societies.

She also has a bow and arrow, something that the animus part of AC already has.

You can even explain like, why use a gun in modern day when the protagonist is trained in arrows because of bleeding effect.

You could even explain enemies also using bows due to them being part of some elite animus trained Abstergo.

A team that relived the lives of proficient Templars and now are more effective with bows than guns.

Why not have our modern day protagonists also use a bow?

    The asset is already there.

Seriously, check this video and tell me this doesn't feel like AC. It does, despite being a modern day game and another franchise.

    https://youtu.be/2MO_yC3U-LA

Or we could just make a crossover and have Lara be the modern protagonist ahah.

Why do the assassins have so little historical agency in most games?

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 02:54 PM PDT

Usually in these games, we see the assassins responding to the actions of templars, and they rarely seem to be the drivers of history or particularly revolutionary themselves.

For what I mean, let's take a couple examples: - We have seen numerous templars as world leaders (popes, doges, generals and more), but we rarely see assassins as world leaders (Mirabeau in AC:U, Machiavelli, and Darius in AC:Od are the only three who come to mind) - Major historical events seem to mostly be precipitated by Templars: The Boston Massacre, the French Revolution, the Crusades, Ottoman Civil War and most events seem to be the result of Templar plotting. Meanwhile, the assassins' agency seems to be limited to murdering Templars and protecting "good guys" from getting killed, and accidentally causing historical events.

I was reflecting on the plot of Unity while I was thinking of this, and I think this emphasis on keeping assassins as underdogs each game makes the stories less interesting than they could be. In Unity, in particular, they had to jump through hoops to explain why the Templars want to undermine the system they already have, saying "people need chaos to appreciate order." Wouldn't it have been more interesting to have the assassins instigating the revolution? To see internal disagreement over the direction of the Order?

Basically, I think the stories do a poor job at exploring the philosophies of assassins and templars in each game, in order to make Templars clear bad guys. It would be interesting to see the Order lose on occasion, to be wrong and have the Templars be right. AC1 tried to play with this ambiguity but it seems like the game got much worse at exploring the grey area of two ideological secret societies since then.

Idea for Assassins Creed animated movies

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 09:26 PM PDT

Would anyone else like animated movies describing the events of the games and the animation graphics just like the AMAZING assassins creed trailers? Like for example if they did 3 they could animate connors childhood, how he became an assassin, him getting trained, killing his father, killing Charles, and burying the piece of eden and such all true to the games but in the style of the battlefield trailer and the trailers in general. They could maybe even do one long movie based on Ezio. Sorry for the rambling and long post but let me know what you guys think!

If the Isu were technologically advanced and needed slaves, why not create robots? (SPOILER !)

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 09:00 PM PDT

This is something I've always wondered. It was clear from the get go that if they were advanced enough to create mind control devices, then they're smart enough to make robots to suit all their needs. We even witness automaton guards in the fate of Atlantis DLC. Why create a beings capable of thinking for themselves, if you don't want them to? Plus humans have to eat, sleep, shit, and at some point, die.

Also didn't any of the Isu think that maybe one day the race they designed in their image, which was clearly a mistake, would use their brains and think " this shit is f-ed up." Not only that, but none of these highly intelligent beings thought to keep the population down to prevent a revolt? It's also kinda weird they also designed humans to be able to breed with Isu, unless they wanted that to happen. Humans were created to be slaves, so it's only logical that were slaves of all sorts who did different things. But the ability to procreate with Isu?

I always assumed it was similar to Detroit: Become Human where the androids were designed to look like humans and give the illusion of emotions, but what humans didn't intend was for them to actually experience or act on these emotions. However the androids are still very much machine, at least physically. They don't age, don't feel hunger, they don't get tired, they don't need to use the bathroom, and neither can they actually procreate with the ones that created them. The Isu on the other hand specifically designed humans after them in almost every way but without a sixth sense, and were genuinely surprised when they started thinking for themselves.

This isn't to call out the story or anything, because I still find it interesting. I just think this could've been thought out better.

EDIT: >! This being taken down made no sense, that's like saying the fact that there's a new enemy faction in FOA is somehow a spoiler!<

discussion on the topic of sequels for characters

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 02:33 PM PDT

i think alot of people forget that the only reason ezio had 3 games was cause he was such a popular character. they probably never meant to make a trilogy they only did cause of how much we loved him the whole point of ac was to go into different parts of history and every period ive loved (yes including london ;) ) fans are so hellbent on characters gettin sequels (i would love a bayek one) but thats not the point of the games i love how they go to different times and i think one pet peeve i have with the earlier ones WHY WAS THERE NO CROUCH OR "STEALTH MODE" FEATURE FROM THE GET GO???? but goddamn i love the direction of the last 2 games id love to read whatyou all have to say :)))))))))))

    Unity had the most potential

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 03:56 AM PDT

I really feel like Unity really had the most Potential and if they didn't work on rogue and unity at once we could've gotten one of the best AC experiences, the debate between which has the better combat between unity and syndicate I feel like is always getting spoken about, unity has slower heavier swings for every weapon that does more damage whilst syndicate has faster attacks but less damage sand for me it wasn't an upgrade, it made a lot of enemies feel like weapon sponges and that is something I despise😂 it was the first proper revamp of the combat system and they did a really good job and I really enjoyed the combat, multiplayer was an amazing concept but because the game was very clearly rushed it was awful and still is very finicky to this day, it doesn't work properly but when it does it is undeniably fun, the glitch filled release tarnished the game forever, when in fact the game isn't in that bad of a state it's actually pretty solid, yes it took a while to get to that place but if someone knew nothing about the release and played the game I'm sure they would think it was a solid game, this is just all my opinion though so if you disagree that's fine

    The unique atmosphere of AC1

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 03:55 AM PDT

For those who played to AC since the first game, do you agree that game had something special that the other didn't have ?

In AC1, everything was perfectly done to rebuild the Holy Land of the Crusades. In the design, each city was unique : the powerful Damascus, the mixed cultures in Jerusalem, Masyaf as a small country town and the coldness of the westerns in Acre. But also in the music : Jesper Kyd did an amazing work to feel the energies of the city. When I arrived in Jerusalem, there was something special :

    https://youtu.be/ZU_w0TxKe0I

But moreover those details for each city, there was more with the Assassin ambient : we felt like a cold Assassin against a mysterious conspiracy in missions. The dialogues were much more developed, more philosophical (even if those were too long), and once again, Jesper Kyd gave us to catch all the tension associated to the assassination with his sounds. Tamir assassination was very harsh, seeing him stabbing a man screaming a dozen times :

    https://youtu.be/3nDxyLqTRWs

It's far from now where it looks it is developed like a mainstream action movie where it has to look cool. That's not pejorative : I really liked the following ACs, but the general ambient was very different, more spectacular but less mature.

Odyssey: who is the better character? Possible spoilers

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 12:34 AM PDT

I'll soon be embarking on my usual AC marathon, which is going to take a lot longer this year owing to Origins and Odyssey.
However, when it comes to Odyssey, I'm wondering if it's worth using my second play through to try playing as Alexios or just stick with Kassandra?
I've heard that the acting and overall character of Kassandra is far better than Alexios.
I thought Kassandra was fantastic, and I'm not the kind of person to gush over the whole female protagonist thing.
I always play as male Shepard in Mass Effect, and in any RPG I'll choose the male character option.

So, is Kassandra really the better option?
Is her version of the story canon?

I just don't want to feel like I'm missing out on anything, but at the same time I don't want to lessen my experience of Odyssey by playing as the inferior character, if Alxeios is really that bad.

I hope the next game is like Brotherhood again.

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 05:00 PM PDT

The new games just aren't Assassin's Creed anymore, and Brotherhood was easily the best game in the series, both story and gameplay-wise, I hope we return to that style someday.

Assassin's Creed Unity: Tinny Audio Fix?

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 12:09 AM PDT

I'm just gonna run a guess and presume there's still no actual fix out there for the horridly tinny audio in this game? If I'm wrong, by all means, correct me, I'd love to know because I'm otherwise enjoying the game so far, but the audio just sounds really bad at times.
