Just got AC: origins in sale. Heres the one thing i really dislike. Posted: 01 Dec 2019 04:16 PM PST The leveling. I will explore and do sidequests and then all of a sudden i outlevel everything when i move forward and its just too easy. Also, a crododile on this side of the river is easy to beat but the same crocodile on the other side of the river will rek you... Just about the only thing i dislike though. Best AC i played! Which Assassin's Creed city felt the most "alive" to you? Posted: 01 Dec 2019 02:49 AM PST Not neccessarily a city found in your favourite game or the best place to parkour around in, but the overall feel and personality that the city has. [link] [comments] |
The toba catastrophe is something else as well Posted: 01 Dec 2019 04:52 PM PST I just realised something... The toba catastrophe the end of the "gods"... It's what the surviving humans in scandinavia considered ragnarok! Why has No one even said this before? It makes so much sense! That would tie in the norse isu as well! Asgard would be an isu city. Shamballa an isu city, olympus etc... I hope we find out what the isu era actually looked like not a representation (fate of atlantis which was a simulation which wasn't accurate) or a partial image. A full real look into what it actually was like. I hope we find out in the next ac. [link] [comments] |
What is your favorite quote from Odyssey? Posted: 01 Dec 2019 07:52 AM PST |
Posted: 01 Dec 2019 02:05 AM PST What follows are my thoughts on the current state of the game, analysation of two main complaints I've heard from some of the fan base in the past, and my own take on how the franchise could progress to resolve these grievances and keep players engaged. Now to start, I'm holding on to all the rumours that Assassin's Creed 2020 will be around the Era of the Vikings. What I'm going off of is all rumour. No official announcement from Ubisoft has confirmed nor denied these rumours. Now what I've been personally disappointed in the last two instalments, that of Origins and Odyssey, is that the historical setting has been too early for real Assassins and Templars or their proto counterparts to be present, and thus the franchise these past years hasn't been focusing on one of the things that makes Assassin's Creed, well, Assassin's Creed. That is, the Assassin-Templar war. Yes, Bayek and Aya's Hidden Ones are the predecessors of the modern day Assassin Brotherhood, but the organisation isn't established until the end of the game, and yes the Cult of Kosmos is proto-Templar but there is an absence of a group willing to fight them, except one angry "sell sword" who only really cares in seeking revenge. They also just didn't have that overall feel of what the Order of Ancients had in the previous title that made the Order feel more Templar-ish, imo. One of the main things that worries me, however, is how Ubisoft will screw up what could sure be a shoe in for one of the best games of the franchise. No official announcement has been made on the substance or subject of the next instalment, and we only have rumours to lean on as of now, but these rumours are compelling to be believed and come from some very respectable and credible sources. Now why I think the next instalment of the 12 year franchise could be a candidate for one of the best game's it's had, and could return the AC franchise to what made it such a success in the first place, is because it could meet almost every fan's standard of an AC game (well, again, imo only. Feel free to criticise and disagree). What follows is the overall feel I've gotten from the fandom in the last 5 or so years. This is not an accurate portrayal of the whole or part of the fan base and I do not claim it to be. What follows is what I can tell and feel personally. First what I can tell is that some fans don't want the series' historical setting to be "too modern", which was a complaint I regularly heard over Syndicate (even though imo the Industrial Revolution is as historical and well removed from the modern era as the American and French revolutions, since those two eras were only roughly 125 years removed from 1888). But the Viking era expanded near 300 years from 790s AD to 1066 AD. So 820-something years from the 1880s. Seems pretty far from modern to me. Then there were the complaints of Origins and Odyssey, specifically Odyssey, where the setting was too early for there to be any real Assassins or Templars, or their proto counterparts, to be part of the story. That complaint happens to also be one of my own. So the setting can't be too early or too late. Ubisoft needs to hit that sweet spot for all the fandom to enjoy. And that goal to best may lie with the Vikings, for we know the predecessor of the Levant and therefor modern Brotherhood is the Hidden Ones of ancient Egypt, and that a Brotherhood of sorts was present in Viking era Scandinavia in the early 1000s AD (thanks to the Last Descendants novels), so if rumours are true and the next title will be set in Europe around the Vikings' time, there has to be a proto Assassin organisation, meaning we could actually play as an "Assassin" this time around instead of a revenge hungry Madjey or revenge hungry mercenary, both of of which had that back story and archetype that starkly contrasted everything an "Assassin" would believe in or do, thanks to the "revenge hungry" part. Then there is the sticky subject of the Modern Day. What I personally want to see, and am sure many others do too, from the next title is a new and better approach to the Modern Day segments of the game. Like more player engagement in puzzle-type playable segments like when Layla was interacting with Atlantis but more of that, or reinstating the mission feel of the MD like what we saw with Desmond at the end of AC Brotherhood in the church and under the Colosseum and most of the MD in AC3 in chasing the power cells. I wouldn't necessarily know how to balance these MD parts of the game to keep everyone happy, as some don't like the MD at all and would rather there be no MD cutscenes or missions altogether, while others, like me, want more of that MD content in our playthroughs. But having these sections of gameplay with actual gameplay in a mission-like, well, mission, might keep those MD haters engaged enough that they may become happy enough to allow the MD to exist, and keep us MD appreciators with enough content and story telling to become happy with the state of the franchise ourselves. I just want AC to return to its roots, keep the fan base as happy as possible, but also be as much re invention as it should in its 12 year run. Like I've said before, you can reinvent the AC experience without sacrificing what makes AC. [link] [comments] |
AC4 Black Flag Social Challenges Posted: 01 Dec 2019 05:42 PM PST Does this reddit get posts for AC4's social stuff, like the chests and royal convoys? Been playing it to 100% it recently and i was just curious. [link] [comments] |
A game where you get to choose to play as assassin or templar Posted: 01 Dec 2019 08:12 AM PST A random thought just came to my head. What if there was a game where you could choose between 2 protagonists, assassin or templar in the same story and get to choose who's point of view you want to play from?. I got no idea on the story or md content the game would have but I'd love to play from boths point of view what about you? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2019 08:12 PM PST I am getting to some last main game side quests before I get back to finishing the Curse of The Pharaos Expansion, and I want to know which ones you guys though added to the story the most or gave the best loot. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2019 03:09 PM PST What is the best AC for the conspiracy stuff? I liked black flag that you got to learn about that stuff. [link] [comments] |
Religion in Assassin's Creed III Posted: 01 Dec 2019 12:13 PM PST I have an assignment for my game studies class where we're supposed to write about a certain topic and connect it to a game. I've decided to write about religion in Assassin's Creed. However, the only game I have available is Assassin's Creed III. I haven't played it before, but to make sure that I'm not wasting my time, do you think Assassin's Creed III has enough religious connotations for me to write about it? And if so, what? EDIT: I also have access to Revelations now, so the same question goes for that. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2019 12:11 PM PST So how do you think they will move on with the story after Odyssey? I mean ac canonically never ended and the boring ass protagonist took the spear from Cass/Alexios what more is there to do.. are they gonna just start off like AC Black flag and throw out new protagonist arc ? I mean it that's the case then AC is my No.2 favourite anime (Team Fortress 2 is No.1) [link] [comments] |
So we're never going to get a modern Ass Creed coz guns right? Posted: 01 Dec 2019 04:25 AM PST I know guns have been in the games but I guess my question should have been worded more like: modern world's don't have swords... I'm desperate to see a modern or modern sci fi version of a game. I want a new York setting. As busy and complex as Unitys Paris...I want to climb and dive from modern buildings...I want a massive map that's NOT 60% water. Modern New York please. Templars and assassins could still utilise swords. Etc. [link] [comments] |
Why'd they make Connor so bland? Posted: 01 Dec 2019 07:37 AM PST I understand that he went through trauma as a child, losing his mother like that but they definitely should have made him more likeable. I'm replaying the series and the contrast between Connor and ezio in the previous games is big. I feel like this is a big reason why Ac3 was so hated on release. [link] [comments] |
What do you for fun after finishing AC:3 remastered (AC:3 and AC:Liberation) Posted: 01 Dec 2019 08:57 AM PST I have finished both of them recently , any ideas what to do for fun other than messing with animus hacks in ac:3 [link] [comments] |
