Odyssey should've had Bayek as the protagonist. The story would be Bayek finding memory seals of Kassandra, founder of the Templar Order. Like ACR

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 09:14 AM PDT

    P. S - GUYS THE TITLE IS NOT A SPOILER! THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENS IN THE GAME.

Like Ezio and Altair in Revelations, Bayek going on a quest for more knowledge.

We'd have some gameplay segments with Kassandra, establishing her as the founder of the Order of Ancients, explaining that she founded the order with the noble purpose of peace and freedom but that it got corrupted over time.

She would leave these Isu memory seals for Bayek to find, in order for Bayek, founder of the Assassins, learn more about the order of Ancients, so he could understand his role in this fight better and so he could, himself, pass those memory seals to the modern day protagonist.

Effectively this would have been the best of both worlds.

    -A Bayek sequel in Greece.

-Playing as Kassandra in those segments.

-Watching the origins of the Templars

-Continuing the hidden ones lore in Greece as they expand throughout the world

Then we'd have a third game, possibly in Rome, with the same premise but now Bayek finding more about the instruments of Juno origins, to help the modern assassins in their struggle against the Isu Goddess.

I see most of these posts and most assassin’s creed related stuff about Ezio, is he that good of a character?

I always preferred Connor, but the amount of posts make me think I should give Ezio another chance.

I thought Assassin’s Creed was good, until I started the Ezio Trilogy

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 12:40 PM PDT

Title might seem confusing, let me explain.

My first assassin's creed game was Unity, sadly. I got it as soon as it was released. Full of bugs, a story I don't understand because I didn't watch or play the prior games, but still the idea seemed cool. a couple of years later, this july I bought Rogue out of boredom. I loved it. I became a templar fan and started to understand the game a bit more. After I finished the game I was hungry for more. I replayed Unity and without the bugs, I loved it too

I always wanted to buy the Ezio Trilogy but it seemed too popular and exeggerated. I thought what the hell and just bought it. Best. Choice. Of my life. I started AC2 and right from the start "It's a good life we lead brother" scene almost made me cry. I finished AC2 hungry for more. I started playing Brotherhood the moment I finished AC2. It was the best game I played in my whole life. The story made me lose my mind!

Now, I'm watching the starting cutscene for Revelations and when Ezio said "my story is one of many, and the world will not suffer if it ends too soon" I creamed my pants. So yeah, I thought Assassin's Creed series is good, but the Ezio Trilogy is really the peak of it

Would you play an AC game with an Isu protagonist?

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 06:45 PM PDT

I'm curious if you guys would actually be interested in a game as different as this being introduced into the franchise. Perhaps not as a main game, but like a spinoff with an Isu perspective?

    Assassin's Creed 2020 (Kingdom/Ragnarok) wishes and expactations!

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 12:02 AM PDT

    Hello guys!

So how probably most of you know the new AC will very likely be about Vikings and north Scandinavia (some leaks say the map is with England, Denmark, Sweden and Finnland).

So what do you guys hope the game have or what would you really like to be implemented Story, Charackter or Map wise.

(no im not a undercover ubisoft developer that wants to hear your wishes so the game will be good)

Currently playing the original AC games for the first time and they're amazing!

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 07:41 PM PDT

So I've played them before but never all the way through I mostly stuck to free roam (mainly because I was quite young) so I never got to experience the story, but I loved the games. The first one I finished was unity and I've played and finished every game after. I decided to go back and play the originals after I set my Xbox 360 up and the first game I played was AC 1 and I'm amazed at how well it still holds up, everything about it is great except the missions they got repetitive. The psp game, Bloodlines is also good as well. Anyway AC 2 is even better and then AC Brotherhood is even better still they just improve on everything that the first had already done so well, hopefully I enjoy revelations and 3 just as much although I've heard somewhere that Connor is really naive.

Btw what's with the monsters in odyssey am I missing something? It seems like a weird thing to add when they weren't in the previous games.

Oh and has anyone got any recommendations for other Xbox 360 games? I've been playing it a lot lately (I've actually not touched the PS4 in over a week because of how good it is). Thanks in advance.

I need to k ow if anyone else has the problem and knows how to fix it. I keep getting a message saying to go to the title screen to automatically install new content. I've done this six times, the last three also included restarting the game. But I still keep getting the notification. I even restarted my PS4. Anyone have any ideas. I don't have any dlc except the "blind King" which came with my copy and I unlocked in uplay.

    (Q) Alexandria FPS Drop on Gaming Laptop/PC

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 06:44 PM PDT

    Greetings, sirs

Like the title said, ive been having this problem too, for months & ive been wandering here-there to look for solution or sort of trick, etc

As far as ive observed, the problem is only triggered when looking east on around the area of both parallel viewpoints of Alexandria city & on the world map navigation too.. no matter what my in-game graphic preset, fps limit, & OCCenter preset are

    My laptop: Omen 15T last gen - i5-93H 4.1ghz, 2060m 6gb OC-ed (-now), 16gb dualchn Ram 2.6ghz, kryonaut-repasted both CPU&GPU

Ive tweaked my laptop optimally. Despite the +30c ambient temp, it performs somewhat so decent; @ sub-65c for GPU & sub-75c max for CPU, -at least according to the the notorious Omen users' experience

My final in-game benchmark result on "1080p Ultra No AA" is 99% green on GPU & 55//45% green on the CPU - pls dont start blaming on just "bottleneck" shortly so easily bcs comprehensively speaking, all of my tweaks result to this is a definite minimized cpu-bottlenecking

Would you sirs please kindly share your personal views or solutions to this? Ive stopped from meeting Aya bcs of this..

Thank you very much, in advance 🙇🏻‍♂

    The horrible grind of Odyssey

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 09:04 AM PDT

Where do I start on the grind in Odyssey?

I am aware that people are going to say 'Do the side quests' and 'play the game properly' but I am here for a good story and some interesting gameplay. I got this in the time at the start on Kephallonia and partly up to Finding Myrrine but now levelling up feels like a grind. There should be a difficulty that allows you to play for the story, not rather than grind to level up five times to be able to get to the next mission.

Also, when I do resort to doing side quests' to earn xp, they feel really repetitive as well. Most enemies feel like sponges if they are the same level as you or below, but if they are higher, assassinating them is like tapping them on the shoulder.

If you don't like that not everyone plays a game like you don't comment. I really hope the next game doesn't do this (especially if it's Vikings).

    Should Ezio have killed Rodrigo?

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 09:47 AM PDT

I've been replaying the series, and I just got back to Brotherhood, so this question is fresh in my mind. Ezio's quest for vengeance and learning to be morally better than the Templars is a compelling narrative, but I really wish he would've spared the life of a lesser Templar if learning mercy was necessary. I don't agree with Machiavelli on much, but I absolutely agree that Ezio messed up by sparing Rodrigo. The series did a smart pivot by portraying him as a broken man in Brotherhood and having Cesare as the villain, but still, I can't help but think Cesare wouldn't have been half as successful as he was without the papacy behind him.

Long story short, I'm staying classic Assassin on this one. Rodrigo definitely deserved to die, and Ezio should've done it, if not for his personal journey then for the good of Italy and the world. Try to convince me otherwise, fellow Assassins.

EDIT: I understand it would have thrown the historicity off. I'm really trying to assess Ezio's motivations and justifications here.

If there's one thing that frustrates me about Shay Cormac (Rogue + Unity spoilers)

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 04:49 PM PDT

It's that it looks like he never got his comeuppance. After the ending of Rogue I assumed that at some point in Unity he'd show up for Arno to seek revenge, but instead he's just never really seen again, and any mention of him in any extended universe just says he was loyal to the Templar Order until the end and went on to train his son and grandson etc. etc. etc.

I get that the Templars are the perpetual baddies and the Assassins are the eternal underdogs and never really come out as the true winners, but I'd have been happy with a quick blurb of "in 1797 Arno tracked down Cormac and. . . " And yeah I get the whole point of Rogue (and Unity too) was to show shades of grey but for me Shay was the protagonist that had it coming more than any other before or since.

CO-OP should be given another chance and I want to explain why. [In-game mock-ups included]

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 07:52 AM PDT

CO-OP should be given another chance and I want to explain why. [In-game mock-ups included]

Hello Initiates, Mercenaries, Templars and Assassins. Hope this can be a good place for us to talk about co-op in the franchise.

On here, I want to make a point about the return of cooperative gameplay in the RPG formula and I try to anwser the most pending questions about it. Let's go, shall we?

    1. The Origins of Co-Op

Prince of Persia: Assassins, the Project that would become Assassin´s Creed

First of all, let´s look at the past so we can see how co-op has been always tied to the history of the franchise. Truth be told, concepts for co-op have been a thing since the development of AC1 (https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-02-04-assassins-creed-dev-reveals-huge-cut-co-op-mode), but that never came to be in the final game because of engine problems and them not being able to tie it with the Animus aspect at the time.

While PvP got ahead and turned into a reality on AC: Brotherhood, we are here to talk about co-op, which was finally a thing thanks to the Wolf Pack mode in AC3 and AC4, which pitched 4 players working together as a group inside the PvP maps against specific targets and objectives. It had a limited scope, but it did introduce the most pleasing moments in a co-op stealth game: coordination and synchronized kills. But...while it worked out as a fun separate mode, it was still more like a PvE version of the PvP mode, so the true potential was still open to be fulfilled.

Later on in 2014, co-op would finally reach a bigger status with AC: Unity, where 4 players could customize their protagonist´s gear and explore Paris together while tackling missions made just for them. There was a lot of effort put into it, but it also had its fair share of problems that did not make the best experience possible (outside of Unity´s own problems at the time). Outside of connection problems, there were some odd design choices that made things less than ideal, like co-op missions being all out of order (history-wise), scattered skill points pushing people out of the objective, easily exploitable heists alongside easily forgettable ones, matchmaking putting people together with different play styles, etc.

I could stay all night saying the problems, but I prefer to talk about all the GOOD things it brought to the table. With the right circumstances, players could plan and execute different strategies based on timing and synchronization. Co-op missions were all quite open and offered multiple pathways, which made them very replayable in the long run (which was essential, since they offered skill points and gear pieces at each completion).

While player builds in Unity were not as varied, there was still a bit of cooperation related to each player´s skills. The "co-op powers" in particular pushed for Assassins to share their unique special ability with their teammates (restocking ammo, using disguises, sharing the Eagle Vision and mass healing). Having someone there to cover you on a fight or to eliminate enemies silently created that great feeling of a Brotherhood working together like no other game did.

After that game though, multiplayer of any kind has disappeared from the franchise with no return in sight...or is it? With the leak by well-know insider Jason Scheirer about "AC: Kingdom" in 2020, other sites started to talk about their scoops about the rumored game. It was on that moment that one of them say the game would be playable in co-op: http://www.xboxygen.com/News/29092-Assassin-s-Creed-chez-les-Vikings-nos-informations. True or not, I am very happy with these news and wanted to share how perfect the franchise is right now for the return of cooperative play.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    2. An Odyssey for a Brotherhood

A glimpse of what co-op could look like in Odyssey / Kingdom

This part is where I talk about how some of the features we see in Odyssey (and eventually Kingdom) can fit like a glove for a co-op experience. Also, I will do some comparisons to Unity on here.

    - The Open-World Activities: Full of places to discover, camps to infiltrate and contracts to solve, it is a great sandbox for Assassins to roam around and tackle different activities together. A lot of the repetition can be alleviated when playing with someone else, either by random chat or the amount strategies that more than 1 person can deploy (approach from opposite angles, keep an eye from the sky while another infiltrates, create a distraction while the others slips inside, etc).Paris on the other hand did not offer much by itself without going into the specific co-op missions, all that was waiting for players were those street events and collectables/chests (which hardly gave much).

-The Trinity for Damage and Skills: With the game separating stats into Warrior/Ranged/Assassin, the builds for each Assassin can really make each one of them stand out and have their own "class". With that in mind, we can have a lot of teams setups that can either be all-around or focused on a specific style. The synergy between classes can be something truly special thanks to the highs and lows of each build. I think we all had those moments where we wish we had an specific skill or damage type, which is something can be solved with a teammate that can help with that.

Unity itself did have loot with stats and multiple skill trees, with all that in mind, it seems like it also had this "class" system, right? Kinda of...the catch with Unity´s system, for me, is that everyone can be the best at everything and there are not much drawbacks for each "build" . A medieval knight with all health upgrade can sneak and stab in the same way that a player who focused his money and skill points on stealth. Indeed, the stealth player will have slower detection and even a longer disguise skill , but the Knight can bypass his worries with the cover system and his great stock of smoke bombs.

Unity had a good start, but things should have been more exclusive to each player so they could be more different from each other. Other than that, the co-op powers were a good idea that played around this synergy (the stealth player could use his disguise skill to hide his fellow teammates. Meanwhile, someone could use his Communal Sense to keep the entire team up to speed with enemies´s locations).

-The Hit-box Combat: Less cinematic and less driven by rigid animations, this style really gonna make easier for different players to help each other during fights. Aiming for a specific target and tackling multiple foes are two of the advantages that can help multiple Assassins to cover their backs during mayhem.

Unity´s combat was….interesting. In concept, it looks very nice and it makes big fights a real danger. But the tools (mainly the smoke bomb) bypass all that alongside the most powerful weapons in the game. Other problem I had with it was the not so responsive controls (sometimes, Arno just denies a counter). In co-op, things could be quite chaotic with people stealing kill from each other or just mass spamming smoke bombs (I am starting to see a pattern). It all just felt very cage-y in the end, with a great lack of options/moves.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    3. A Kingdom of Questions

You see that mountain? You can climb it...together.

Of course, it is not all a paradise in the territory of co-op, after all, there are a lot of questions to solve when it comes to put more Assassins into the game. Let´s try to guess together what can be done for the biggest question marks. I also want to know your responses about these if you HAD to put co-op in the next AC game:

    - How much Progression for the others? This is one of the biggest elements when talking about co-op. Those that join the host´s world...what can they bring back to their session? XP, loot and discovered locations are the common and essential things that invited players should keep after their co-op adventure. But what about quests? Should they be completed on their world too? This also bring us to another question…

-What can be played in Co-Op? Unity made a lot of its content playable only in single player while having separate content for co-op players, this can be solid approach, since it can please those that do not want any multiplayer influencing their experience and also gives more challenging content for those that want to do the co-op levels by their own. But other games (Ghost Recon, Borderlands, Far Cry 5, etc) goes to the bigger scope and make all content playable in co-op, which makes them perfect for a group of friends. It seems like the perfect scenario at first, but it can be argued that the narrative and player choices can suffer from it, so it is not a perfect plan either.

For me, I want to try to please everyone (an impossible tasks, I know), so having single and co-op content should be the way to go, but...there should be more co-op activities than Unity offered (outside of the main quests, I think side quests, contracts, sailing and exploration should be open for more than 1 player at all times).

-Matchmaking problems? I saw that a lot of people that did not enjoy co-op are also those that did not have friends with the game and had to play with random people online. This usually turns into a huge mess, turning the co-op experience into a nightmare, since there is no communication involved. So...what to do?The best ways to solve this, in my mind, are 2 things: a Social place (a separate location where you can see other players and see their profile/gear. This would also be a good place to have a chat with you fellow Assassins and maybe find a soul mate) and a random matchmaking option where you can choose your playstyle (in this way, the game would try to put you with people that would also want to play stealth, go nuts or just explore the world.

-What about the lone wolves? We can just say that all co-op content can be done by yourself, but should that be enough? While we could just decrease the number of enemies, I would still prefer to maintain the co-op design of the missions while giving something to lone wolves...The Recruit system from Brotherhood. We saw a glimpse of it in Odyssey, but what I want is the full return of the system (basically, lone players will be able to use recruits to replace the roles of other players).

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    4. Curtain Call

There is still plenty to talk, but I wanted to have a space for people to discuss more about Co-Op and see if more people shared my view of how beneficial it can be for the franchise. Even if you are not one of them, speak your mind, I want everyone to give their two drachmas about the subject. Thanks for reading.
