Exploration in Valhalla is AMAZING Posted: 15 Nov 2020 08:32 PM PST Totally love the exploration in AC Valhalla. Each loot able item, either wealth or a simple loot box has its own tiny mystery and puzzle associated with it. I can only imagine how much effort went into making sure that the experience when looting each item is unique. Thanks to the devs for putting in the effort and attention to these small details. Love these puzzles. Devs, plz keep them same or improve upon them in future enteries. [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Nov 2020 12:57 PM PST Title basically, I don't need to elaborate that much more. So far, I've run into three separate instances of this, and I'm only 12 hours into the game. Oddly, I also ran into an area in Norway that said "AREA NOT AVAILABLE", and I was able to walk right in and get the skill anyway, /shrug. But yeah, the "you can't come through here now, but we don't tell you that" shenanigans is annoying. Could easily be resolved with a popup that says "Come back during the story later" when you're X meters away from the map dot. EDIT: I mentioned in another comment here, it's likely QA did identify this potential issue. I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek with the title, as I had literally just had my third instance of this occur minutes ago and it was annoying. My guess is the devs either ignored QA or deemed the issue too inconsequential to prioritize/allocate resources toward. [link] [comments]
I'm glad there are no location objectives in Valhalla. Posted: 15 Nov 2020 09:38 AM PST This was killing me in Origins and Odyssey. I mean, yeah - you could ignore it if you wanted to, but sometimes my mild OCD kicked in anyway, and I just had to kill those captains. Or get one extra chest, just to finish the location up and get some exp. I. Just. Had. To. I've been released from these shackles in Valhalla and I did not even expect that would feel so good. I kill when someone's in my way and I loot stuff because I care about the stuff now, as I'm never sure what it will be this time thanks to increased diversity of POI types. And sometimes even some of the regular, smaller treasure chests are hidden behind a small puzzle, instead of always just being out in the open all of the time. As a person who loves to explore open world games and find the side stuff, I consider this to be the best quality of life change in Valhalla. This trims the typical AC ancient series bloat for me in ways that enhances my experience in a very positive manner. I just hope this will become a standard from now on. How about any of you, do you miss that? Do you wish there was more things to do in every location just for exp? [link] [comments]
I'm ABSOLUTELY in love with flyting! Posted: 15 Nov 2020 02:04 PM PST Valhalla has been amazing, it's improved on so many things since its predecessors! One of the things I'm enjoying about the game is flyting. It doesn't take long to do, and it's immensely enjoyable to see the chat choices. This game has been a blast so far! [link] [comments]

Valhalla PSA: Use the "Incendiary Powder Trap" ability to blow open stone blockades! Posted: 15 Nov 2020 11:54 AM PST If you're having trouble finding or transporting an oil jar, the "Incendiary Powder Trap" ranged ability works just as well - all you need is 1 adrenaline. This has saved me a lot of time and heartache, I hate searching around for the hidden oil jars. [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Nov 2020 11:56 AM PST I hope this isn't a commonly understood concept... But I found it out by accident by smashing a window with a miss-click and getting my ass sufficiently whooped by some Saxons. I did it on purpose before my next raid however to kill all the guards in the area... So I hope it helps someone like it helped me! (hopefully skipping the asswhooping however...) We really need better armor that shows off the tattoos instead of what we have. Posted: 15 Nov 2020 01:48 PM PST Basically you've got Beserker armor or nothing. You give us a bunch of really awesome tattoos and then make literally every armor completely cover them. We need better, non-horny, revealing armor sets.* * Theycanbealittlehorny [link] [comments]
Can the boat songs/stories not stop when we enter a raid area please? Posted: 15 Nov 2020 03:24 PM PST You can't sail for 20 seconds without having your song interrupted. It's honestly so annoying. Even on completed areas this is the case. Please Ubi give us the option at least. [link] [comments]
The raids would be 100x better if they weren't so fake (read post) Posted: 15 Nov 2020 10:06 AM PST The game will constantly spawn new enemies when you look away, and teleport your troops when you are running around. When you realize this the raids go from feeling real and fun to just being what they actually are: a visual spectacle that doesn't really exist and is just there to cheat you. Why couldn't they have a set amount of enemies that are in the settlement you raid, and give you a set amount of raiders that can actually die. Have a meter on the UI that shows how many troops they have left and how many you have left. Now there is actual reason to kill enemies. Now I just sprint from treasure to treasure because killing enemies get me pretty much no where. After a while you can empty out a settlement, but there is no reason to. Also have your troops actually deal damage instead of just doing that "dance" or whatever you call it where one of your and one of their troops just take turns hitting eachothers shields. Whats even the point of bringing these guys, all they do is distract. This also gives you reason to make use of hit and run tactics. Make it so the local castles and settlements will send reinforcements so if you don't hurry up you will get swarmed. Boom. Now its fun to raid. You go in, fight towards the treasure, then get out when you got it all and leave before they get aid. Make your troops actually retreat when you use the horn instead of just spawning them in when you take command. Now you also have to evaluate if you want to wait for all of them or leave before you get swarmed. Now you have reason to cover their retreat. Edit: Guys I'm saying the game spawns in, not respawns enemies. Yes you call kill everyone in a raid, but enemies will be spawned in during the battle when you are looking away, like when you call on your horse. This is only in raids, not during stealth. Method for farming infinite carbon ingots, nickels and tungsten ingots Posted: 15 Nov 2020 07:40 AM PST First, you need to completely get all wealth in the regions where you're going to do the farming. Afterward, each enemy that used to carry wealth will re-spawn with more wealth on them. The method I use is to select 3 regions of the same level (loot rarity varies depending on the level of the region), pinpoint the exact location of the enemy carrying the wealth, and then fast travel between those 3 regions killing all the wealth-carrying enemies each time (there's 3 per region). The location of the enemies carrying wealth can be found here: https://www.powerpyx.com/assassins-creed-valhalla-all-wealth-locations-guide/ The enemies will keep re-spawning as long as you keep traveling between at least 3 regions With this you can easily get enough nickels and tungsten ingots to upgrade ALL weapons and armor pieces to mythical status after just a couple of hours. I’m interested in people’s thoughts on the Jomsvikings Posted: 15 Nov 2020 02:48 PM PST I adore valhalla so far but this was just disappointing. I don't know about anyone else but I was expecting a proper character creation and was excited to make a cool viking. Instead I just pressed Y for way too long and ended with someone I'm not even happy with. [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Nov 2020 09:39 AM PST Hi all. I don't know if I'm the only here, but my friends and I have recently started playing AC Valhalla. We had high hopes, but... the audio quality is abysmal. Like really, REALLY bad. Everything sounds very tinny and compressed, the dialogue sometimes just cuts abruptly and environmental sounds are very inconsistent. Have I just missed something, like is there a high-quality audio assets pack? I'm no audiophile, but the audio quality makes the game literally unplayable. I'm fine with a game that has worse graphics but amazing audio, but definitely not vice versa. EDIT: What I meant by environmental sounds being inconsistent is that sometimes audio just jumps in decibels, sometimes even scaring me. I know that's NOT supposed to happen in a game, especially an Assassin's Creed game. [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Nov 2020 11:29 PM PST - I do not know if other weapons would work - to equip double 2H axes, you need the titans grip skill in the left hand side of the red skills. - if it doesnt work for you, try different angles. Most barred doors in the game I open them first try. [link] [comments]
Lack of visual customization on gear in Vahalla hinders the game Posted: 15 Nov 2020 06:18 AM PST As per title. I loved the visual customization in Odyssey. That I could swap from rags, to gladiator, to Spartan, to mercenary, or a blend of the whole lot was great. That my gears' appearance wasn't tied to the item I was wearing. I could make Alexios and Kassandra look how I wanted to, easily. By the 20th hour into the game, I had a few dozen pieces to change my aesthetic, from weapons to gear. Vahalla doesn't have that. The items look great, but I'm 12 hours into the game and my Eivor has barely changed. There is no silhouette difference because I've been stick to the Raven Gear. I can't even change the 'cosmetic' side of it, whilst maintaining the bonus. This makes me unenthusiastic about exploring and finding new treasures to hunt appearances, other than XP. I'm hoping there will be an update down the road that changes this. [link] [comments]
Literally my only main problem is the lack if transmog Posted: 15 Nov 2020 02:14 PM PST I think this is one of the best AC games to date, definitely up there with the greats. I can deal with the parkour, it doesn't really get me aside from collecting pages, not a big deal to me, and I love the combat, and I thoroughly enjoy the loot system. But man I just want to go back visually with the armor, and I really hope they implement it soon, especially given that they said it was gonna be in. Just kinda strange to announce that when it's not there from the get go. That said, this game is still probably gonna end up one of the top ones in the series [link] [comments]
OPINION: Outfits look much better if they're not upgraded (Valhalla) Posted: 15 Nov 2020 11:46 AM PST They are so much more beautiful to look at! Simple, slick, they feel right for the world they're in, the color schemes are awesome. And then as you start upgrading them, they get increasingly bulkier, and metal plated, and then when reaching mythical level, all of them get this golden tint, and I look like I'm a one man jewelry shop. When I found the Mentor armor, I actually saved the game and upgraded it to see if I like it, and no surprise there, I'd rather stick to lower stats than an ugly outfit, so I reloaded. Ravensthorpe Deco Element Dragon Dog Clipboard. Why? Posted: 15 Nov 2020 10:19 PM PST The Decorative Element Dragon Dog Clipboard interface is larger and more visually strong than the cosmetics you'll place beside it. How 'bout a simple plaque on the ground or a translucent element that vanishes when your decoration is placed. /rant [link] [comments]
The Mild Hunt sidequest is the dumbest one in series history. A rant. Posted: 15 Nov 2020 09:14 AM PST So, I randomly talked to a woman in Norway and she told me to gather 3 Reindeer Antlers. I was, like, sure I'll probably run into some reindeer along the way I'll kill them. And so I did, but none of them dropped any antlers. And then the plot was coming to the point where I needed to leave Norway and I was like "I'd better finish the sidequests before I leave..." And I slaughtered every horned animal in Norway to the point of driving them to extinction and no antlers. Apparently, there are two types of horned deer. The normal deer who drop only deer hooves. And REINdeer who have thinner horns and can actually drop antlers. And they exist only, like east and North of the Fornburg and there's like 1-3 deer there. And the antlers are not a guaranteed drop. Like, I've had Rajang Hearts drop more often. The quest doesn't tell you this. Had to look up a goddamn guide. And it also said that the reward is the woman telling you the location of the Legendary Elk (who I already killed). And I figured that I might as well just complete it anyway. But no. After I killed like EVERY DEER and reloaded to respawn them AND KILLED THEM AGAIN. And the woman was gone. Cause after you do the Birthrights quest, she just funks off into nowhere. So this quest was poorly communicated, available for a limited time and now I have a piece of paper in my inventory for the rest of the game. Like, what the funk? [link] [comments] |
