Regardless of location, I want an established Assassin as the next protagonist.

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 06:21 AM PST

Something along the lines of you were the head or 2nd in charge of an established chapter, they were all ambushed and killed leaving you the sole survivor on a quest for vengeance dashed with a bit of betrayal while you rebuild the honor of the guild.

I like the new games, a lot actually but the starting at square one and having to suspend my knowledge of who and what the hidden ones are needs a break.

Edit: obviously I'm no writer and there are far better ideas floating about in the replies, that said it's nice to see I'm not alone in wanting to get back to being an assassin. Thank you kind redditors!

Does somebody in ubisoft have a fetish for moving boxes?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 05:48 PM PST

I'm sorry but I have to say it, why is this game (valhalla) so obsessed with moving box puzzles? It's not even puzzles 99% of the time, it's like move this box for 5 seconds in one direction to get access to a door. I run into 5 boxes I have to move a hour to finish a quest/get wealth. There was no other unique ways you guys could've found ways to waste players time? Let's make you move boxes around for 10 seconds, that will surely trick players so they won't be able to collect alexander the great's foreskin. Gj ubisoft

Ravensthorpe feels empty and dead most of the time

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 09:19 PM PST

Does anyone else feels like this? At first it was really cool because after I returned from a story mission, I had the mission with Petra, the man's best friend quest and someone died, and I thought that it would always be like that, with some missions and events after completing a story arc, but now, it just feels empty.

I wish it could be more like RDR2 where characters were having their own conversations and would react to the player actions.

Sorry if it is badly written, English isn't my first language.

“Treasure Hoard Map” isn’t a map to treasure.

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 04:48 PM PST

It's a map to a piece of paper with a tattoo design on it that someone stuffed under a rock. "Treasure Hoard" makes me think of something actually useful, like upgrade materials. This is my first gripe with the game.

Rant: All Ravens have Raven Feathers

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 09:06 AM PST

All bears have fur, as do foxes. Every reindeer with antlers has antlers (surprise). Every chicken has a heart, every bird has bones. Every hare has feet.

Please, Ubisoft, for the love of god: Don't make me play the lottery one every single animal kill. And if you really have to, could the chance to find a freak of nature that does not have the resource it most definitely should have be considerably lower?

I get a little peeved at the complaints non-fans levy against the series.

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 10:29 AM PST

I just got into Valhalla, and from what I've played (4-5 hours, as of this post), I think Ubisoft is doing a great job of listening to fans. Fans wanted less level gating, we got it. Fans wanted better rewards for exploration, we got it. Fans wanted naval exploration back, we got it two years ago, and it's still here today. Even though I still prefer Odyssey for a few reasons, I can see Valhalla becoming a fan favorite. It's a very good game.

Which is why I find it so baffling that people who don't play AC are leveling the same complaints against the series as they do with every other game. They still don't like the historical setting, or the open world, or the stealth, or the combat, or the lore, or the frequency these games come out. If you're purchasing an Assassin's Creed game, you shouldn't act shocked when it plays like (get this) an Assassin's Creed game. They want the entire series to change to be more in line with something like The Elder Scrolls (because there just aren't enough fantasy RPGs out there), or for Ubisoft to just stop making these games entirely and make the next Overwatch clone or some shit.

Assassin's Creed is an extremely unique series. It's changed the face of gaming in many ways, and continues to make improvements to address fan feedback. There are still issues with the games, and the fans know that. We know there are still legitimate problems to bitch about, and we're trying to get Ubi to address them.

But if the series has never been for you, why are you trying to turn it into something it's not? Just keep playing the games you like, and let us enjoy the games that we like. You don't see me telling Bethesda that they need to turn TES 6 into a dating sim or some shit.

I get that I'm preaching to the choir here, it's just something I wanted to get off my chest. Like I said, I'm loving Valhalla so far, and the last thing I want Ubi to do is get rid of the best parts of the series.

Having poison runes that cause AOE with a poison cloud is great, but it's pretty pointless if it causes you to desynchronize from unintentionally killing civilians

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 04:27 PM PST

I'm running a poison build and I can't count the amount of times I've been attacked by multiple soldiers in somewhere like colcestre and my weapon had made a poison cloud. 99% of the time it's amazing, but in a city where there's civilians I parry and then it creates a cloud. I wouldn't mind if it was an instant desync, but it happens like a minute later because the cloud lasts too long.

Wait, why in the world do all the weapons expand?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 09:19 PM PST

I'm loving Valhalla 50 hours in, but I just realized every weapon gets twice as big when you go into a fight. The proportions and feasible and make sense when they're just on your body, but as soon as you draw them, they get weirdly huge.

I thought it was just spears so I was avoiding using them, and I thought greatswords were just already way too big. I equipped a greatsword tho, and it looked really good on my back, but then when I draw it, its longer than Eivors body. Why was it done like this?? Is it a design choice or a mistake? I can't understand why they would make weapons not match visuals when they're sheathed.

You know what would be cool in assassins creed games? The percentage of people who chose one decision over another in real time!

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 01:47 PM PST

This is inspired from the games that are more heavily decision based and of course assassins creed isn't in the same genre but when you have to decide whether or not to kill someone for example, it would be so interesting to see that 79% of other people also chose to do that!

    What do you guys think?

Guards don't seem to carry away their dead comarads anymore

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 05:09 AM PST

While Valhallas stealth mechanics are an improvement for the latest triology, I really miss this little detail that rewarded patient stealth players in Origins and Odyssey:

When a dead body was found and the alarm has settled, the guards began to carry away their fallen ones. I loved that and I'm honestly quite sad that this doesn't seem to happen in Valhalla anymore.

Flagged as theory in hopes my extensive observations are wrong.

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 08:50 PM PST

Who has ever seen a Viking village without walls or palisades? Why is it reported in the the sawmill's description as "to help fortify" and then serves only as an event buff? I find it quite ridiculous.

    Hidden Blade alternate skin options

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 04:38 AM PST

Since it's on the outside arm the color of the hidden blade sticks out like a sore thumb, so I was wondering; if they added an option to give it an other skin such as gun metal grey, damascus steel, worn bronze, dirty chrome, blacked-out etcetera.

Would you guys be into that? Is it something that would appeal?

    Actual Remake for Ezio Trilogy?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 10:10 PM PST

I am well aware Ubisoft has given us a remaster of the Ezio Trilogy but does anyone ever think they would give us a remake? I feel since Origins a lot of fan of the series have come to the series and I am wondering if a true remake with better models and textures would sell well? I know I would probably be more than willing to rebuy and play with modern graphical fidelity.

Valhalla Needs a “Fast Walk” Button when Cloaked

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 09:48 AM PST

Sure you can easily dictate the walk speed with the joystick, but it's a bit tricky at times. I'm either walking really slow or jogging when cloaked. My suggestion would be to map the mechanic to Triangle (playstation) where you hold triangle while moving the left joystick to walk relatively quickly as opposed to running. You would have to release triangle to then press or hold it for any looting or door opening prompts.

Again this mechanic would only work while cloaked to help with social stealth.

Assassin's Creed Game Set During Caesar's Civil War

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 11:11 PM PST

I was wondering if any of you would be interested in an Assassin's Creed game in which you are a member of the Order of the Ancients and are tasked with aiding Julius Caesar in his civil war, could also include his conquest of Gaul.

The Senate could be controlled by an antagonist group (Could be hidden ones but civil war takes place 2 years before the Hidden Ones were formed.) As they were corrupt (by today's standards.)

[mild spoilers, no potential spoilers] Just wanted to share my opinion on valhalla as how its a great game and how it is bad game

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 09:26 PM PST

    How its a quite game:-

1- The return of eagle vision as odin vison

2- In odyssey, even if the enemy is 5 levels above you its was next to impossible to do that quest or kill that enemy, in valhalla even if the enemy is 100 power levels above you, you can kill him its a bit difficult not too difficult but it is possible

3-I am actually happy that the modern day plot actually moved which it did not from AC3 (IMO)

4-Lot of customizable options, like tattos, hair, beard etc

5-They reduced the gear, which is good coz if you remember odyssey the gear was a burden, even you loot an enemy you will get their gear, in valhalla i am still using that varin axe of my father which i got in the start by keep upgrading it.

6-The animus confessions are back and are quite good

7-At last stealth, the eagle vision and single hit assassination skill saved the game, the stealth is possible, but they should have some stealth compulsory missions to express how good the stealth is

8-Combat is brutal, takedowns are brutal ( i just hope they add some more takedowns), at start it is bland but when you unlock more skills and abilities its just awesome, and stamina bar helps in immersion

9-This game has no side events similar, i am not talking bout raiding i am talking bout world events, or mysteries of the locations

10-Evoir looks tired when doing parkour its looks like evoir is putting effort into climbing, and will breath heavily when you were running and just the talked to a npc, putting the helmet on will have a echo on your voice in cut scenes

11-Billions of easter eggs as world events

    12-Game is beautiful AF

13 I like how they dealt with mythology as hallucinations, and mixed them with isu stuff

    HOW ITS A BAD GAME

1-The raven has nothing much to do

2-The cutscenes are expression less, like robots, ngl the in-game cutscenes are pretty impressive as how to camera angle zooms in when you interact but the expressions are terrible

3- Character models could have been better

4-Enemy AI sucks AF, sometimes they dont even attack me

    5-Your crew AI sucks too.

6-Horse riding is similar to odyssey, with stamina bar

7-gL!T(he$ ( i like them, they are quite fun)

8-Game breaking Pugs and cr@shes ( i have not encountered any thing YET, but i saw some peoples bugs and they are bad)

    9-Opt!m!z@tion is bad

10-Parkour is also same with no new things, and is clunky AF

11-Fire is just so bad looking

12-Water near shores are not realistic

    13-Textures could have been better

    SPOILER after finishing the game

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 04:17 PM PST

My question is if it is possible to start a romance with Randvi after she and Sigurd break up. I've seen it online but no proof to be found. In the mission where you get the option for the first time I chose "Now is not the right time". Now I've finished the arc with "brother....." (I know I'm sorry but I've forgotten the name) I still don't have the option.

Will this be possible later on?

PSA - There is a mod lets you to customize Eivor's hair and beard.

You can check it on modnexus. I am not sure if it breaks the game, but looks pretty promising with many customization options.

A picture that shows some customizations

The link for the mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/assassinscreedvalhalla/mods/24

I guess it is forbidden to share images like that, but I see many are wanting to Ubisoft to bring some new features like that.

Assassin's Creed Unity - The best of all !!

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 10:37 PM PST

Does anyone play ac unity nowadays ? I like to play this one alot and still playing. One of the best game in AC franchise & best multiplayer game yet ! Ubisoft is not making any good old-school ac games but they can atleast consider multiplayer modes in recent titles. I just hope they make great titles like ACB & ACU in future, for Brotherhood's sake !

I'm glad social stealth is finally back, but can we please fix the parkour.

    Posted: 25 Nov 2020 09:24 AM PST

The parkour in these last 3 games is super bad. I was trying to climb through a whole in the roof of a church yesterday (and yes I was supposed to take this route) and it took forever because there was a flag or something in the way so Eivors pathing didn't work right. But if this was the Ezio games I could easily just ran up the near wall side jumped and got straight in no problem.

Parkour in these latest games is just so damn boring. I found a viewpoint in these ruins and thought "oh this will be a neat little parkour puzzle jumping around on pillars" but then I remembered what era of AC we're in and just climbed straight up something that didn't look remotely climbable synced the viewpoint and left dissatisfied.

Theres a reason we don't have Assassin tombs anymore and I wish they would create a parkour system thats fun and rewarding to use.
