    The hidden blade during gameplay

    Posted: 04 May 2020 02:24 PM PDT

Just something small that i really hope they add into Valhalla. When your walking around in the old AC games you could pop out the hidden blade. Didnt do anything gameplay wise but i actually loved doing it. Kinda made you feel like wolverine. Man i hope they add little features like this

Confession scenes need to return for AC Valhalla

    Posted: 04 May 2020 07:47 AM PDT

The post assassination confession scenes were at an all time best in my opinion in Origins. The black room that often had objects, animals, people, gods, all sorts of things manifesting themselves in the post assassination scenes. Those scenes are where I think Bayek's character developed the most. When he kills Medunamun with an apple of Eden in a pure fit of rage, when the Hyena is dragged away by her pet Hyenas, when Bayek screams Shadya at the cultist who killed Shadya, when he sees Khemu in these visions, when Bayek gave his signature sweep of the Heron feather to send his victim to the Egyptian underworld etc. All these things were so great. So perfect. These scenes added so much character to Bayek and really added to the story in terms of Bayek's revenge arc. We didn't have them in Odyssey and as a result most of the assassinations felt very underwhelming. The only one that I can remember feeling memorable was Kleon because that whole beach scene. Sometimes I'd assassinate a cultist by accident and be like oh so that was a cultist. Just way too anticlimactic. Really hope Valhalla brings back post assassination confession scenes, especially after how amazing they were in Origins.

Ashraf Ismail more or less confirms that you will be able to visit Stonehenge in AC Valhalla... Sweet.

What do you guys think of the Centurian armor from Origins making a return in Vikings? Personally I would love to see it!

If AC Valhalla is a hit then Ubisoft have to realize that they need to give the helm of AC over to Ash’s team

    Posted: 04 May 2020 04:38 PM PDT

There have been five major installments to Assassin's Creed since AC III and the end of the initial storyline. Of the five installments (Black Flag, Unity, Syndicate, Origins, Odyssey), arguably some of the best games to come out where made by Ash and his team, Black Flag and Origins. Now with the dream team of Ash and Darby working on Valhalla(which so far sounds like a good compromise between new fans and old fans of the franchise), the next game could prove to be one of the better AC games as of late(especially with all the controversy caused by Quebec and Odyssey). Rather than flip flop between studios with conflicting views for the franchise, Ubisoft should consider sticking with what works, and what works well within Assassin's Creed. And seeing how Quebec are getting their own ip, Gods and Monsters off the ground from Odyssey, they'll have their hands full. If Ubisoft wants consistent and quality AC games made by people who obviously care about the franchise they're working on, then they'll have Ash's team along with Darby McDevitt take the reigns of developing AC games for the foreseeable future.

Now when Ashraf and Darby are back, bring back Jesper Kyd for soundtrack and you have dream team.

    Posted: 04 May 2020 06:52 PM PDT

Every soundtrack of AC that Jesper made was so good and like it they were like souls of the Assassin's Creed.

Connor is one of the Series’ best Protagonists

    Posted: 04 May 2020 04:57 PM PDT

I know this subreddit likes to bash him, but he's an interesting character. Seeing him grow up and develop his motive is really entertaining, and on top of that he's got an array of moves and weapons that make him unique. The voice actor isn't great and at times he's a little too stoic and predictable, but overall I think he's underrated among the AC community.

3 Different versions of Eivor that we might see

    Posted: 04 May 2020 11:28 AM PDT

My man and I made an Eivor Costest from the Assassin's Creed Valhalla Trailer

    Posted: 04 May 2020 10:15 AM PDT

You know what Ubisoft could do? Have Montreal be the only producers for main entries every 2 or 3 years. In between we could get Sofia making spin offs, shorter lower budget games like Rogue... Using the old mechanics.

    Posted: 04 May 2020 11:37 AM PDT

I fully believe this could be a way to keep everyone happy. Naturally, even Montreal should keep classic AC core themes.

Instead of going the Odyssey route. But if they wanted to make it gigantic open world, alright. Not what I would do but alright...

If Sofia would do in between some lower budgeted games using the old game engines, tweaked. City based games, shorter, 15h experiences maybe a bit more with more lore focused and modern day focused games. And in terms of settings they could also go for less knwon but still awesome settings.

For example. Montreal launches Valhalla. Cool. Maybe even core AC fans will like it. But is still not quite what they want because of choices and gender choice.

Here comes Sofia with a classic city based AC, with linear narratives, shorter experiences that go deeper I to the lore and choose some cool locations that players seem to be unaware.

This isn't to say that I'm happy with the state of main entries. I prefer linear narratives not choose your own advnture. But it could be a way to keep everyone happy. The lower budgeted games would be marketed as spin offs.

Rlly hoping Valhalla isn’t filled with endless amounts of meaningless fetch quests

    Posted: 04 May 2020 09:54 PM PDT

Odyssey got stale fast af cause 70% of the content in the game was basically you just running to find someone or something for somebody, honestly the tailing missions that everyone hated from old assassins creeds were more entertaining, at least those required a small amount of effort to actually finish, Odyssey was essentially just a running simulator and Valhalla would definitely benefit from having an assassin do, Yanno. Assassin things

My ranking of the soundtracks of every Assassin’s Creed. Not including the side games obviously.

    Posted: 04 May 2020 11:25 PM PDT

My opinion, whatever. This is pretty straightforward. I say the title, then my reasoning.

    1. Assassin's Creed III

This soundtrack is the best imo because it is an emotional rollercoaster. From making you feel like a badass Native American/Privateer/Assassin, to making you feel sorrow for someone who sacrificed everything to protect their people, home, way of life. But in the end, despite his best efforts, failed. To just downright depressing. Absolutely incredible. Love the game or hate it, you can't deny the masterpiece that is the Assassin's Creed 3 OST.

    1. Assassin's Creed: Origins

The Origins OST does one HELL OF A JOB in capturing the feel of Ancient Egypt, the birth of the Assassin's Creed, the feeling of being the last of the Medjay, who realized he was entering a world that was much bigger than himself. The OST is enough to give an eerie feeling. Then give you a sense of hopelessness, but then a triumphant feel right after. Origins was incredible, and it's soundtrack adds to it.

    1. Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Revelations is truly something. The voice in the main theme gives you the sense that this is Ezio's final adventure. As he is old, and not what he used to be. It also tells the story of The Great Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad. The man whose life was a emotional journey about the pain and suffering that one man went through, but was able to hold back his rage and frustration, and become the embodiment of what the Assassins fought for. And don't even get me started on the horse chase theme. A great way to start a game that will throw you into a world that is complemented by a beautiful soundtrack.

    1. Assassin's Creed

The OST of Assassin's Creed has some of the best mixes of different walks of life I have ever heard in a video game soundtrack. City of Jerusalem is undeniably incredible. You can hear a mix of the three main religions in there. Christian, Jewish, and Islamic themes can all be heard. Spirit of Damascus has an eerie feeling at first. Then a loud suspenseful drum beat. With a jump cut into a huge reveal of the triumphant feel of Damascus. It would make a great cutscene in the game. With the beginning, then a cut to a shot of the city, with the soundtrack playing in the background. This OST has everything you would want in a game about historically based killers in the medieval period. Ranging from loud and triumphant, to depressing and eerie.

    1. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

HELL YEAH! The OST for Black Flag makes you feel like an unstoppable, cunning, ruthless badass Pirate-Assassin. WHICH YOU ARE! Stealing A Brig is without a doubt, one of my top 10 favorite parts from any AC OST. The feeling of trying to survive, and succeeding in a stylish way. In certain parts, it gives you a relaxing feel. As if you the player, are also enjoying yourself by a fire. Singing shanties, drinking all the rum in the Caribbean, and just having a blast with your pals.

    1. Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

This one is probably gonna be controversial. Odyssey makes you feel like a ruthless, mercenary/proto-Assassin-esque badass. With tracks like Enter the Animus. One of the best things about this OST. And the Atlantis theme. Combining the feel of discovering one of the most widely known, and widely disputed legends in history. With the feel of a depressing feeling of seeing such a once great city, be reduced to ruins that are buried hundreds of feet under the sea. The Cultist theme is also creepy as shit too. Adds to the feeling that these people are everywhere.

    1. Assassin's Creed: Unity

Unity is more towards the bottom because I think it has a weaker OST when compared to others. Not to say that it doesn't have anything memorable. Because it does. I think it does a great job of capturing the feel of the very violent(and that's putting it mildly) history of the French Revolution. While also making you feel like you are someone who stalks the shadows of one the most pivotal moments in history. It did a good job. Meh in my opinion, but hey. That's the point of this.

    1. Assassin's Creed: Rogue

As much as I love this game, it's soundtrack really doesn't do it much justice. The main theme is spot on. A man who becomes disillusioned with the ways of his code, and defects in order to uphold what it truly stands for. The rest isn't very memorable, but it isn't terrible. I just wish the OST got more time to shine. Would've been nice.

    1. Assassin's Creed II

This one is definitely gonna ruffle some feathers. I would like you to please put away the pitchforks, torches, swords, knives, guns, etc. and hear me out. I think Assassin's Creed II's soundtrack has one of the weakest OSTs out of all of them. It has very few redeeming qualities. Like Venice Rooftops, Florence Tarantella, and Home in Florence. I personally somewhat hate Ezio's Family because I can't escape it, and it wasn't that good in this game. It's only popular because the Ezio fanboys. But that's a whole different debate for a different time.

    1. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Brotherhood's OST was very weak. It had little to no redeeming qualities, and was pretty much a retread of II's soundtrack. Nuff said.

    1. Assassin's Creed: Syndicate

Syndicate by far had the worst OST. It went with the old timey feel of 1800's London. The OST sounds like something you would hear on a gramophone in a horror movie. It also sounds like something you would hear in an old 1900's-1920's silent film. The Westminster theme was probably the only good part about the soundtrack.

So that about wraps it up. I know A LOT of people will disagree with me. But whatever. I would like to know your opinions and rankings in the comments.

Does anyone know if Ubisoft has said anything in regards to headgear in cutscenes?

    Posted: 04 May 2020 03:38 PM PDT

This was a huge problem for me in odyssey. Why in gods name would you take off your hood or helmet when speaking to an enemy in a cutscene. It makes no sense. They said it would make romance scenes looks strange. I'm wondering if they've said anything about it in regards to Valhalla? I'm really hoping they did something about it, a lot of odyssey's full outfits looked awesome but I found myself designing outfits with no headgear to maintain continuity which is a shame due to the wide array available

    Posted: 04 May 2020 01:56 PM PDT

Imo I believe Bayek of Siwa needs a sequel. Hes a Character with so much potential for a trilogy. I know theres probably been so many of these discussions throughout the years. But im just reminding people of the idea again.

    Posted: 04 May 2020 07:51 PM PDT

You think there will be dynamic snow in the map? And also extreme weather like heavy blizzards, maybe on Norway, and also strong rains with thunders and a lot of wind. I think there should be but I don't know if there will be present.

    What do you guys think?

Darby McDevitt being the writer for AC Valhalla makes me optimistic for the story and characters

    Posted: 04 May 2020 07:10 AM PDT

Its no secret that the writing of AC has been declining a lot, even before this RPG direction started. Unity & Syndicate already had weak stories and characters.

Origins had Bayek but rest was still lackluster (Aya had a lot of potential but was one note and forced, Caesar was a joke, main villian was shit etc.). And Odyssey was a bad sitcom.

Darby wrote the story for AC Revelations and AC Black Flag which gives me a lot of hope for AC Valhalla. Those two games have really good writing and explore the Assassins/Templars conflict well + have many memorable scenes (their endings have to be the best of the franchise)

Valhalla trailer got me thinking, what's the best AC trailer in your opinion and why?

    Posted: 04 May 2020 11:47 AM PDT

For me it's gotta be Revelations.

The roller coaster of emotions seeing Ezio as an old man, clearly looking for answers of some sort.

Then all of a sudden, he see's Altair's apparition. Absolute CHILLS!
